Crystal’s journey of wire wrapping started with her thinking it would be cool to make her mom a tree of life mini suncatcher one Christmas about five or so years ago, never thinking it would grow into a business.

The husband certainly didn’t think I would stay with wirework as I had tried my hand at sewing, drawing, painting, etc. There’s just something extremely organic and fulfilling about working with earth-mined metals and crystals with each piece a work of art on its own. I have followed and friended several artists in this medium and learned a great deal from each and am still learning. The reason I’ve stayed with this medium is it’s not all about just learning but doing something you Love.

My thing is Trees of Life. As pendants, rings, bracelets, earrings, sun catchers, on horseshoes, rocks. You name it. I made my cardholder with a TOL. As above so below, we are all one and the tree of life embodies it all and there is nothing stronger than LOVE.

I have been wrapping hand-cut gemstones created by Randy Squires of “Bits Gems” for about a year now, and he’s challenged me for which I am forever grateful. He is the President of our local Gem Club here in the Lewiston Idaho/Clarkston Washington area and hosts events called “Inspired by Nature” and the” Nez Perce Hell's Canyon Gem Show”.

I was featured in “Wire Artistry Magazine” in 2018 by Wire Art Tutorials which is created by Erica Pal, from Spain. She’s an amazing wire wrapping artist and creator who shares her talent with the world. It was an honor to be featured in her first edition of this online magazine.

I have been honored to know some Ahhh-mazing artists and absorb their knowledge and learn their skills to create my own.  Nicole Hannah is one such individual who amazes me with her abilities along with Ann Titova, Kelly Jones and Stephanie Kalis Thompson who is weaving lace-like creations integrating them with her wire wrapped ones.

I will also mix up mediums. I took a year off a few years ago and just painted rocks. Lots of Kitteh rocks were created and released into the wild to send love to anyone who found my creation. I also created a way to stick a TOL on a rock and those were a huge hit as well.

I enjoy being a part of “LC Valley Rocks” on Facebook. It’s been a moment though since I’ve done any painting. Maybe again the future.
I can always be found on IG via wldflwr_30 or on Facebook at Wldflwr’s Creations.
