Louis and Sarah Pattis acquired the Inn in February of 1988. Louis is Austrian with a strong hotel background, including being an award winning Austrian-trained Chef. Sarah is from England, and worked as an Occupational Therapist, both in the States and abroad, before becoming an Innkeeper. She says the two jobs have many similarities!

They have four children, Mark, Anna, Nickolaus and Rebecca. Mark has recently returned from Military Service;
Anna is following in the footsteps of her Mother and working as an Occupational Therapist in Portland, Oregon; Nick is working in Montpelier, Vermont; and Becca is attending University in Arizona.  Becca continues to work at the Inn on school breaks. Louis states, “We think of ourselves as caretakers of a little piece of Vermont history.

We take our responsibilities very much to heart, as we continually try to upgrade and improve the Inn without endangering the timeless historic nature of the building.” It is their belief that they are privileged to be part of the living history at the Inn. They consider themselves to be lucky to be part of a small town community like Brandon, with its many historic buildings and strong community spirit. ” Brandon is Vermont’s sleeping beauty, not quite discovered, and we like it that way,” says Louis. The Pattis’s sincerely hope you have an opportunity to relax, discover and enjoy what the Brandon Inn has to offer.
