We take pleasure in welcoming you to a paradise, a peaceful setting on 34 acres of woodlands where nature never sleeps; with boutique bed & breakfast accommodation, located 15 minutes out of Stratford . Every season has its own story to tell and when night welcomes the day, you step into a private little paradise of beautiful plants, flowers and trees.

The huge variety of birds in song invite you to relax, and let Mother Nature work her magic on your tired soul.

gardens are the perfect wedding venue for the nature lover
ACCOMMODATION

Te POPO Gardens and Accommodation intend to provide a year-round retreat for our guests to enjoy the many splendours of the beautiful Mount Egmont and the Taranaki region. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. On arrival we want our guests to step into a trouble free world of unforgettable rest and peace, where the sound of the city is replaced with the sound of birds and flowing water.

A continental breakfast basket is in each room or a cooked breakfast can be purchased, for options please discuss with your host at check-in. You may choose to eat in our special guest dining room or have it served in the privacy of your room upon request. We also offer evening meals (please arrange at time of booking) and have an onsite Coffee Shop. Please note: due to our location, phone and internet reception is limited. We do have WiFi available in the communal lounge area, but not in the guest rooms.

The Elephant Room

private little paradise of beautiful plants, flowers and trees.
Our Elephants room is self contained with a king bed. Perfect for a couple who needs a break away from the busy city life!

The Space
Our beautiful self contained Elephants room comes with a king bed and has it’s own toilet, bathroom and garden to enjoy by yourselves.
The king bed can be converted into 2 singles.
There is also a microwave, toaster, jug, coffee, tea, milk etc.  in your room to enjoy at your own leisure. Mini bar available.

Guest Access
We have a guest lounge where you can enjoy the company of other travellers.
Take some time to walk through our 34 acres of gardens and woodlands which will be the highlight of your stay! Or go for a swim in the river!

Serengeti Apartment

A paradise and peaceful setting on 34 acres of woodlands where nature never sleeps; with boutique accommodation, located 15 minutes out of Stratford. Every season has its own story to tell and when night welcomes the day, you step into
a private little paradise of beautiful plants, flowers and trees.

The Serengeti Apartment is self contained two-story accommodation with a king bed, separate lounge & kitchen, with an additional 2 single beds.

The Space

Our beautiful self contained Serengeti Apartment is a two story accommodation with a king bed, 2 single beds, full bathroom, separate lounge and kitchen facilities – including a stove, fridge and microwave, as well as a garden to enjoy by yourselves.

The king bed can be converted into 2 singles.
There is also a  jug, coffee, tea, milk etc.  in your room to enjoy at your own leisure. Mini bar available.

The Gardens

Te Popo’s 13 hectares has magic for all the senses.

Birdsong will accompany your stroll through parkland encircled by borders of every colour, form & shape; a broadleaf and conifer woodland; and secret gardens tucked behind clipped hedges. Pristine waters flow through 50 feet deep river gorges and magnificent native trees, ferns and vines clothe the extensive forest trails. Three bridges, waterfalls and ponds bind these diverse elements into a unique cool temperate NZ experience.
Hosted 4-star accommodation is a special feature.

Te Popo Gardens feature 34 acres of woodlands and gardens. It is an ideal place to tune in with nature. It’s a great place for couples or families to stroll through, have a picnic and relax. Every season comes with it’s own beautiful colours and story. You wouldn’t want to leave!
Planning a visit to Te Popo Gardens? 

It’s open all year round. We ask a small donation of $5 per person which helps maintaining the gardens.

Events and Wedding Venue in Taranaki

Our property is a perfect venue for celebrations and company functions.

It is a classy venue for a perfect wedding. A German phantom coach with the bride and groom will be pulled by two horses up a 150 meter driveway to our wedding venue in the gardens and married by a celebrant of their choice. The couple can opt to spend their first night in our unforgettable wedding suite in total privacy.

Our amazing woodland camping site can also be used for visitors.
