 Paname French Restaurant

I am pleased to say that art as food and food as art is alive and thriving all over this great metropolis.
If you follow The New York Optimist then you may have noticed that we have been introducing more restaurants this year
After  delving more deeply into the dining scene in Manhattan and the outer boroughs  in previous years,

Chef Bernard Ros owner of Paname Restaurant in the Midtown East section of Manhattan known as Turtle Bay
has created a wonderful French Bistro menu and presents his diverse dishes with an artistic flare.

Many restaurants in Manhattan will make sure the food is presented with style and an effort to compliment the dishes
Artistically, but Chef Bernard of Paname seems to have mastered not only the art of fine cuisine but also the art of color placement.  His culinary creations burst with color and the flavors in his dishes compliment each other just as well as the colorful sauces
compliment the seafood and meat selections they adorn.

There was a certain complexity in the pairing of his dishes. For instance the Sushi Grade Tuna with Caviar went together quite nicely with a dash of Wasabi and seasoned mayo To tone down the salty nature of this dish.

Preceded by an Amuse -  Bouche  (anchovy canape) these dishes really brought a certain tempo and atmosphere to the upcoming selections on this tasting menu.  Atmosphere is a very important element when I am going to a restaurant to experience fine dining.

Paname in my opinion is like walking into a bistro in France in the 70’s and 80’s with large tasteful paintings of maybe european ladies who lunch.  Soft lighting and plush leather backed bench seats really make it nice and comfortable to help add that final touch to this lovely little restaurant.
