If you enjoy the great outdoors you can take a boat trip or helicopter flight to the Hole in the Rock, join one of the many charter yachts, explore some of the islands, kayak and snorkel.
Enjoy a gentle stroll around historic Russell and lunch on the waterfront - or fish and chips on the beach as the sun goes down. Drive or hike around the Waipoua and Puketi Kauri Forests, explore the beautiful Hokianga Harbour, or get on your bike around the Twin Coasts or Waitangi cycleways.
The area has great markets, a lively arts scene, wine tours and superb restaurants.
