Artist Statement
My art is totally inspired by nature or by the feelings I have for specific pictures I have seen, and the conviction I have for a specific subject. I believe that nature was created by a divine Creator, and I attempt to portray that beauty on canvas as I experience it. I love to use bold colors and drama to create skies and seas to emphasize my feelings for creation. The Creator used emotion and vast color schemes when He created the beauty that we live in. Everything, including the wildlife, reflect their own unique existence.

Artist Bio
Karen Munday is a retired, happily married individual of 46 years, who has become a painter and creator of unique landscapes and creations in acrylic paint medium. She began her journey with the famous Bob Ross technique, painting in oil, and recently chose acrylics as her favorite medium, becoming more serious about her art in recent years. Recently, she lost her youngest daughter and was given a chance to raise one of her 12 grandchildren.
She has lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest with an abundance of lakes, rivers, and wildlife that she reflects in the majority of her paintings. More recently, she lives in Arizona and is surrounded by a whole new inspiration of God’s creation, the desert, the cactus, and the landscapes of the desert, including wild horses.
Karen has entered the realm of selling and exhibiting her art at community craft shows and has become known to the city council, where they have exhibited several of her pieces. She has sold several of her pieces and looks forward to sharing her art abroad if possible.
Karen is very serious in her relationship with her Lord and Savior. Some of her art pieces portray her heart regarding her biblical understanding of who the Creator is and why she loves Him so much! She wishes to share this experience in some of her art pieces.
One year ago, Karen stepped out in faith and published a book to share her knowledge of acrylics and encourage new artists in their journey. Her book was published on Amazon and can be found at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZW8PG58. Acrylic Painting for Beginners: A Step–by-Step Guide to Start Your Journey & Discover Your Unique Artistic Style. It covers the basics and the starting process of the new artist and their journey of discovery. She believes that hands-on learning and experimenting benefit the new artist more than just a picture. It is a book of actual hands-on learning.
