Karen Bradley
Karen Bradley is a contemporary figurative realist oil painter based in Savannah, GA. Her work focuses on portraiture and still life. Karen’s artistic career began as a Medical Illustrator. Now her inspiration comes primarily from people and objects she encounters, their expressive qualities and the pattern of light and shadow that reveals them.
Karen’s work is about honest visual interpretations of her experiences as she perceives them. Ms. Bradley’s recent painting "Blue", was selected as part of the FAV15% in the January 2016 BoldBrush Painting Competition. “Blue” has also been accepted into the 2016 National Juried Exhibition at Southwest Gallery in Dallas, TX hosted by Oil Painters of America.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Georgia including Shop SCAD, Islands Framing Gallery, Non-Fiction Gallery, where she was awarded Honorable Mention for “The Dancer”, AT Hun, Dick Blick Gallery, The Studio School, Alexander Hall Gallery, Gallery By the Sea, The Beadstro Gallery, Atwell’s Art and Frame, Desoto Row Gallery, W Salon and The Plantation Club Gallery, where she was awarded Best of Show in The Landings Art Association Spring Show for her intriguing and lifelike portrait “Lily” and First Place the prior year for her figurative pastel “Easter”.
Her work is in many private residences throughout the US and is in several public collections including Candler Hospital, Cannon Plastic Surgery, Skidaway Chiropractics and many more. She studied at the Arts Student League of New York as well as Studio Incamminati of Philadelphia and has worked with many established artists such as Joseph Todorvitch, Max Ginsberg, Kerry Dunn, Margaret Dyer and Robert Liberace. She is currently a member of the Oil Painters of America and The Portrait Society of America.
