Hilary McCarthy is a contemporary figurative painter who has been living and working in New York City for the past seventeen years.
She exhibits internationally and her studio is located on the Upper West Side.
Her work hangs in collections throughout the United States and Europe. She earned a master’s degree from New York Academy of Art and is working on a second degree in art history from Columbia University.
She has attended artist residencies in Puglia, Italy, Melbourne, Leipzig, and Johnston, VT, and will be teaching in Provence in August 2017. In her work, she incorporates nature, water, and animals into narratives about the vulnerable human experience and the never-ending mystery of existence.
