Fremin Gallery in partnership with Galerie L'Atelier is proud to present a new exhibition featuring the works of two legendary artists, Belgium photographer Eric Ceccarini and American sculptor Hacer.
Eric Ceccarini/ Denis Meyers - "Maurice 03"
"The Painters Project"
Extensive, both in time and scope; "The Painters Project" is an ongoing collection of collaborations with painters to whom Ceccarini offers as a canvas some of the very best models he has enjoyed working with during his career.
For a number of these artists the project offers them a step in the dark, an escape into unknown territory. They must settle into a new environment with unfamiliar light, unusual shadows and highlights and a canvas that is not only three dimensional but alive, breathing and sentient. Movements and poses influence their strokes, they must discover, adapt and ultimately tame this canvas with their brush. Together, the body, the pose, and the art become one for a brief moment.
This unorthodox partnership gives birth to wonderful and often surprising creations. Magic succeeds when the ephemeral and volatile nature of paint on the human skin is forever captured through the lens and immortalized onto the image.

Eric Ceccarini/ Lina Redford "03"
For “The Painters Project”, Ceccarini collaborates with different painters for each photograph and more than 100 of them have been invited throughout Europe and the other continents to be apart of this monumental project. The artist paints the model in their own style, while Eric photographs the results. In this way, the series represents a fusion of two artistic visions – something that’s not always easy to achieve, yet this series epitomizes a sense of cohesion and dynamic synchronicity.
Eric Ceccarini is a Belgian artist born in 1965. He received a degree in photography from Infac, Brussels in 1987 and has been working as a fashion photographer for many of the top fashion houses. In his artistic endeavors, he captures women’s essence and soul, transcending mere physical representation.

Hacer - "Coyote, Stalking"
"Transformations"
Renowned for his bold, origami-inspired, metal sculptures that explore psychologically complex themes; Hacer’s introduction to the nostalgic art form began at age seven when a volunteer in one of his foster homes read, “Sadako And The Thousand Paper Cranes” by Eleanor Coerr.
Choosing “Hacer” (Spanish verb: “to make”) as his new name, he broke free from his difficult past and now works as a sculptor, designing and building large-scale, origami-inspired forms in bold, solid colors. Through his work, he aims to elicit a dynamic response about the viewer’s relationship to their childhood and believes through this interaction all can begin anew.
Hacer has exhibited his works extensively in the United States and currently his show "Hacer: Transformations" is on view on the streets of New York City's Garment District until November 23. His colorful series has been received tremendously well with New Yorker's, tourists and press.
