Summary: A family friendly lakefront home - at the end of the drive - with incredible sunsets
and sunrises, private wrap around deck to sun yourself on,
and choice of kayaks and canoes for your paddling pleasure.
First floor, mostly open yet cozy. Wonderful mix of antiques and comfortable styles. Bedroom 1 with
queen size bed faces the lake – wake up to the sounds of the families of ducks. Bedroom 2 has a
set of twin beds – this room is the favorite of children. Lure them to sleep in their beds with your
choice of old Disney movies…plentiful in a room perfect for kids.
Second floor is an open loft with full size bed, yet private with your own bath. Double windows give
you the view of the lake and to the south, view of the nature preserve.
See how many hawks, and even eagles, you can spot.
All linens and bedding is supplied – but you are welcome to bring your own.
To Do: Lazy days can be spent kayaking on the lake, paddling in and out of the nooks and crannies.
Paddle to the south in a center channel of water, past the beaver lodge and on to another open
water space to fish, explore, and check out the beaver dam.
Close by are Rails to Trails, a system of old railroad tracks now maintained for walking or biking
trails. Park your car and pack a lunch…you can walk for miles on these trails.
Also, close by is Salt Springs State Park. This park is operated by volunteer local citizens who
believe in a good and healthy environment, and the history of the region. Visit the Wheaton House,
an historical home and museum on the site, as well as walk within
the 750 acres of trails, waterfalls,and picnicking areas.
In the evening, relax on the deck of your lakeside rental to watch the sunset and enjoy the fire pit
with your smores. Don’t forget your wine.
Note, the owner of this rental is an environmental educator. The process of recycling, composting,
and little or no plastic waste is advocated. The house is set up for the ease of being green – we
