Artist Bio
Born in the 1950s in northern Wisconsin, Debbie was engulfed
in the nature of the northwoods. Upon a move to Florida as a young woman, the nature became enticingly watery.
Using the old masters techniques and her ballet dancing experience, she more feels the movement in her seascapes and skies than sees it.
Her art education ranges from formal collegiate, to informal to self taught. As an award winning artist, she exhibits in galleries
and art shows in Florida, has two pieces on permanent loan to the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Cancer Center and has painted cover designs and illustrations two published books.

Artist statement
Why create? Why breath? My goal in my work is to somehow paint what I feel. Most of the time I feel hope for what's next, awe in
the infinite, enlightenment and Light. (I don't paint on dark days). My hope is that my audience will see beyond what they see.
I have always loved art. As a child my cozy place was anywhere with drawing tools. Life, and people moving through it, moved
my heart and pencil. As an adult traditional oil painting techniques facilitated the means to
express the motion and emotion on a two dimensional stage.
