Welcome To The Crowsnest Pass
We at Country Encounters would like to invite you to our beautiful corner of Alberta.

The Crowsnest Pass is nestled in the Southern Alberta Rockies between the foothills of Pincher Creek and the British Columbia border. In the National historic site of Downtown Coleman, Country Encounters is surrounded by history and the majestic mountains, where we provide a wide range of services for your convenience.

We offer you a choice in accommodations. Whether you prefer the self-catering style of our quaint guest house, or the charm and character of our B&B set in a historic main street building, your comfort is guaranteed. Depending on your needs either venue is well situated for both summer and winter activities in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass, and is sure to please.

Delicious meals await you in-house or at your chosen venue with our full service catering. Our own events room is perfect for smaller groups to meet, hold workshops, classes or full catered retreats.

Accommodations

Arts & Crafts Room

The Arts and Crafts Movement began primarily as a reaction to the Victorian era and as a search for authentic and meaningful styles for architecture and decorative arts. Running from about 1870 to 1920 and characterized by simplicity of design, hand-crafted objects, and local materials.

The Arts and Crafts room was designed and furnished with the Craftsman style in mind as the original woodwork in our building was very similar in concept.

This comfortable, well-appointed 2 room suite with a mix of antiques and custom made Mission style furniture, a separate bedroom and en suite bath invites you to relax. The warmth of wood , down duvets and handmade quilts surround you.

​If you feel like soaking in the Jacuzzi tub, its right outside your door in the main bathroom. You will find a cozy corner to read in and fine linens to sleep on. Top it off with plenty of room and you have the makings for a private retreat or family get away.

Twenties Room

The decade of the 1920s is often characterized as a period of prosperity and optimism. It was the "Roaring Twenties," the decade of bath tub gin, the model T. It saw an end to the war and prohibition.

This was also the age of sleek elegance and a move away from the wood and natural character
of the Arts and Crafts era and on to pastels and paint.

Enjoy the sunshine streaming in the turret windows as you appreciate the view of nearby mountain peaks in this extra-large room with private bath. It has a queen size bed, a trundle bed(that makes out into 2 twin beds) making it
​ great for a family with younger children .

The sitting era furnished with antiques offers space for private relaxation,
​all decorated to bring to mind the 1920's.

Garden Room

Get closer to nature in the Garden Room. Take advantage of the deck full of flowers , comfortable chairs and a nice view of Crowsnest Mountain just steps away through your private access.

Complete with comfortable furniture, this beautiful space invites you to sit outside enjoying breakfast. Comfy oversize queen bed that converts to two twins makes
this room great for 2 friends traveling together.

With soft, thick comforters, handmade quilts and the most unusual head board around, you may want to stay in bed all day. 
The en-suite bath with antique soaker tub is a wonderful place to relax after a long hike.

Make sure to add the bubble bath. If a Jacuzzi is more you style, it's just down the hall. Round it
all out with unique furniture, the warmth of wood floors, subdued colors, a
dash of antiques and it's picture perfect.

Dorm Room

Don't let the name fool you. There is no similarity between the Dorm room and it's colligate cousin. Crisp clean lines, a smattering of antiques and a unique bath arrangement entice you to kick of your shoes and stay awhile.

Artistically patterned hardwood floors and down duvet round out the experience. Adjustable rain shower head and more thick cotton towels than a teenager could use, make your daily ritual a pleasure to complete.

If a Jacuzzi is more you style, it's just down the hall in the main bath. Located right off the guest lounge, it's easy to grab a book or take a moment to take in the mountain view from the west windows.

North Room

Rooms in our converted and refurbished 1904 building offer an eclectic mix of old and new. Each bedroom and it’s furnishings are as individual as our guests.

All uniquely designed with a range of antique pieces and often handmade accents with our guests comfort in mind. Wi-Fi and daily gourmet breakfasts are included.

Green Room

With a bit of a woodsy feel , a spectacular Bathroom with free standing tub and rain shower,

King or 2 twin beds, Sofa bed TV Stone fireplace,The Green Room made for relaxation. Too bad no one has come up with a better name. And yes the walls are green.

Victoria's Library

Return to days gone by and the opulence of the turn of the century.

Start with a king size bed, add luxurious bedding a sitting area featuring fireplace, classic books and a private bath with claw foot soaker tub, all decorated to bring to mind a Victorian library.

Southern Exposure

Hand hammered copper detailing and large walk in shower make this suite unique. Fireplace to cozy up to on cool evenings. Queen bed and sofa bed

At Country Encounters 2 bedroom suite, you will truly enjoy your family vacation in the mountains.
​Bring your own groceries or let us provide the meals.

The Guest House is supplied with coffee, tea, sweeteners, creamers, condiments, some seasonings, cooking utensils and dishes.  Let your grillmeister perform their own brand of grilling on the gas grill out back.

Welcome to the 2 Bedroom Suite
Take time out to reunite with your family or friends and enjoy a get-a-way! 

​The Suite provides a place to kick back for some old fashioned fun and explore the great outdoors. Situated a short walk from the Crowsnest river this 2-bedroom, spectacular 4 pc bath with steam shower, suite complete with fully furnished kitchen and living room with WIFI cable T.V and Fireplace.

Sleep like a baby in either of the queen beds with pillow top mattresses , or split the one Queen into 2 single beds. All will sink into their down comforters and pillows or comfy quilts and duvets!. 

Comfortable accommodation for 4 adults in 2 cozy bedrooms plus a Hide-a bed for those extra guests. Fully equipped kitchen with dinner service for 8, 4pc. bath with all the necessities, , patio and BBQ, ,cable tv, & dvd, and close to
all amenities, the river, and trails

Dining Room

This inviting room at our Bed And Breakfast is enhanced with its antique buffet, and large sideboard.

With it's antique maple table we are able to host breakfasts, lunches, dinners, or meetings for smaller numbers. After dinner guests will often enjoy the ambiance of the fireplace in the living room, or take dessert out in the courtyard type deck.

Guest Lounge

With its comfortable chairs, lots of books, cable TV, DVD with lots of movies,

This area greets guests with plenty of entertainment or just a place to socialize at the end of the day.

Outdoor Areas

​The options for outdoor relaxation abound in the courtyard style garden.
​Enjoy a sunny breakfast or a shaded afternoon tea amid the flowers.

Hot Tub Room

​No cool trips outside here. Relax and let the days adventures swirl away in the warn massaging waters of the Hot Tub.

Living Room

This area with it's welcoming fireplace is a great place to sink into one of its deep comfortable
sofas with a book and a blanket.

Main Bathroom

Your roommate hogging the en suite. Try out the luxurious main bath with its jacuzzi tub and separate shower

Although we are not wedding planners, we have a wealth of experience after catering 100's of weddings.
