Dining in New York Is like travelling the globe.
This past week I made the global leap to the East Village to the new restaurant Chouchou by founders
 Antonin Brune and  Restauranteur, Mario Carta.
Cleverly nestled in on East 4th street between Avenue A & B Chouchou has found a home in a neighbourhood known for fashion music and art.
   Don't look for any signage there is no sign in the window or above the door.
This restaurant at this moment is a hidden treasure serving a savoury traditional Moroccan menu with a new twist.
The Lobster Tagine served separately in the beautiful decorative clay pottery for which it is named
and then placed over a buttery couscous was one of my favourites by far. 
But my ultimate favourite was the baba ganoush and hummus served as one of four appetizers before the main course.
Romance and mystery fill the air of Chouchou as the background music creates a steady groove.
This definitely makes my list of top 10 restaurants to bring a date.
The decor is film set quality ready for the actors to take their cue.
​Of course, the hostess and the waitress and staff are probably actors and models just lovely smart and accommodating.
With a 16-foot high beamed stone ceiling, custom-made Moroccan marble candlelit tables, caramel leather banquettes, retro chairs, custom-made metal sconces, exposed stone walls, vintage mirrors, mood lighting, and front windows draped
with taupe linen curtains truly give you the feeling you are dining in Morocco.

All of the 5 senses are catered to at Chouchou, with an adequate primarily French wine list 
a nice selection of champagne and beer,  a 12-foot long
custom-made, L-shaped, wood, metal, and
Moroccan tiled bar and a menu that is not only delicious but colourful fun and somewhat complex, 
with its additional spices and herbs served with each entree.
Chouchou is a culinary experience not to be missed.
