Blackwood House offers guests a unique bed and breakfast experience in Tamahere, just north of Cambridge.

Surrounded by magnificent specimen trees and sweeping lawns, our 30 acre property
has spectacular views of the rolling countryside with the hills beyond.

Blackwood House offers accommodation in three guest rooms for up to six guests to experience
a peaceful stay in the country and luxury of our American Arts and Crafts home.

You will find Blackwood House to be a sanctuary of tranquility, comfort and warm hospitality.
Enjoy a walk around the property and warm hospitality from your hosts, Allan and Margaret.

We are well situated to make the most of many popular tourist attractions, such as ‘Hobbiton’ and the Maungatautari scenic reserve which are approximately 30 minutes scenic drive away.

For your convenience, we are just minutes away from St. Peters School and its golfing academy
and Avanti Cycling Velodrome.
We are delighted to host guests in our architecturally designed American Arts and Crafts home.

Twenty years of planting on the property has been a passion. While at Blackwood House you can enjoy walking around our gardens and the rolling hills and greenery for which New Zealand is famous.

Tamahere is the perfect place to drop by. It's a short drive from many tourist destinations in the central North Island and minutes from Cambridge, Hamilton and the Hamilton International Airport.

Our elevated north-facing private site, halfway between Hamilton and Cambridge is rare and here to be enjoyed.
Rooms
Blackwood House is a cedar clad retreat set within a peaceful garden.

All of our guest rooms enjoy panoramic countryside vistas, air conditioning, underfloor bathroom heating, fine furniture, and superior mattresses with premium bed linen to encourage a restful night’s sleep.

Make your choice from three individually styled and designed guest rooms, our 
Queen Bedroom, Single Room, and Deluxe Upstairs Suite.

Our Queen Bedroom and Single Room are in a separate wing of the house, separated by a large bathroom. The Queen Bedroom caters to a couple and the Single Room has two single beds. The choice is yours.

Upstairs is our Deluxe Upstairs Suite. This spacious bedroom has a queen bed
and its own ensuite, overlooking the picturesque rural landscape.

Enjoy being entertained by music and films while relaxing in our spacious living room area or separate formal lounge.
For your convenience, Wi-Fi and broadband services are available free of charge.
