Maureen Riesco is a contemporary-realism oil painter, whose art has been described as alluring, whimsical, vibrant, and fun. Her current focus is painting female portraits and figures, using colors and
a wet-on-wet technique that combine to produce an edgy, vintage feel.
Her portraits are often embellished with small animals, birds or flowers that help evoke emotions and tell a story in the mind of the viewer. Her images provide an escape to a more whimsical place and time.
In addition to her degree in engineering, Maureen has studied drawing and painting at universities, art studios, and with private teachers. Her work and style are always evolving as she experiments with new themes and painting techniques.
She has received many awards, and her work has been exhibited individually and collectively at various galleries throughout Colorado. She is a member of Colorado's Louisville Art Association (LAA), the Louisville Arts District (LAD) and the North Boulder (NoBo) Arts District. Website:www.maureenart.com

Statement
In the Guinness Book Of World Records Pablo Picasso has been estimated to have produced about 13,500 paintings and designs, 100,000
prints and engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 sculptures and ceramics. His oeuvre has been valued at £500 million (US$788millon).
Picasso was a masterfully erratic pioneer with a hand in every
art movement of the century.
Over the years The New York Optimist Has worked with over 1500 amazing artists from all over the world in all genres, many of them also prolific and gifted creators.
But I have never come across an artist after years of working as an artist myself as I have with Walter Paul Bebirian.
I met Walter in midtown Manhattan, one day after a long days work at FOX 5 and he approached me to give me a card
I refused him and walked away, after getting several blocks away I delved into my pocket and there was his card.
Amazed and bewidered I could not figure out how his card ended up in my pocket especially when we were at 6 feet in distance after I walked away from him.
Magic!! I may have talked about Walter in previous articles and mentioned this story but I bring this idea into play once again to say that there are some people in this world that are pure magic.
Having produced way over 100,000 images and producing many more on a daily basis Walter has proven himself as a creative force in this world.
Born in Forest Hills Queens NY, December, 1949 Walter started his career learning from his mother who was also an artist Walter then transitioned into the world of art as a photographer.
Capturing the spirit of his subjects Walter began cultivating a natural gift and now creates his vision
Through a digital world of color and composition. Each work explodes with vibrant color and intricate design
in what seems to be an effortless continuous stream of creation image after image Mr. Bebirian in my opinion
is one of the more unique voices in this global art world.
