Laëtitia Guilbaud was born in France in 1980. She is a full time artist currently based in Scotland. Since an early age, she has been sketching imaginary women, fashion drawings and comics. Then as she grew up, she mainly enjoyed working on the female form.
In 2003, after obtaining her art degree, she decided to paint the women subject with acrylic on canvas.
She started to exhibit in Cafes, restaurants and various art shows. Then in 2006 she moved to Glasgow, Scotland where
he started to exhibit her paintings in some of the city’s art galleries.
She has had several press articles written in relation to her work, in particular celebrity portraits. Laetitia now exhibits in various galleries across Britain and France. She has also had exhibitions in Italy and Belgium. Laetitia also undertakes private commissions and watercolour drawings.

Artist statement:
My acrylic paintings are all about confident women that I like to portray in a bold and vibrant way.
I never grow tired of sketching and painting them.
I enjoy intensifying the femininity of my subjects, sometimes to the extreme as to reflect my love for freedom and fun. Just like when I depict them with a glass of alcohol and a cigarette as to emphasise human nature’s inability to resist temptation and life’s pleasures.
The exaggeration of their curves is for me a form of escape from reality and a search of perfection. Through my paintings I want to explore women empowerment and seduction. Sometimes I carefully sketch my ideas on paper and sometimes I just let it happen on canvas.
As a younger artist, I was influenced by the work of Austrian painter Egon Schiele. Back then, my paintings tended to be
more abstract, dark and provocative.
Now I would say that I am mainly influenced by the Pin-up art and by everyday women.
